Savannah, this is one holiday event you wont want to miss. Come out to the American Legion Ballroom on Friday, December 16th for a rare opportunity to see three of your favorite local bands share the same stage. This show will feature The Accomplices, Niche, and The Train Wrecks. Doors open at 7pm and the music kicks off at 8pm. There will be a cash bar for all of your libation needs and there is an ATM downstairs just in case you forget the cash money. Unopened, unwrapped toys will be collected at the door to benefit Toys for Tots. The bands will all have their merchandise available for purchase as well so you can get all those stocking suffers for your friends (or for yourself if your not in the giving mood). The Legion is located at 1108 Bull St. Just south of the Forsyth park. You can get your advance tickets at Civvie’s on Broughton St, as well as at Primary Art and thetrainwrecksband.com Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door. Come ring in the holidays with your favorite sounds of music. Looking forward to seeing you all there as we rock the night away !

We are excited to have been chosen to play on the main stage opening for headliner Carolina Liar. 25,000 people have signed up to run in the marathon and we are looking forward to entertaining each and every one of them. We are excited to be stopping through some of our favorite cities in November. Our tour begins in Charleston, SC at The Mill. This is a really cool spot and we cant wait to get back there again. The next night we head a little farther North up the coast to Wilmington NC to the Satellite Bar and Lounge. This is our first stop in Wilmington so if you leave nearby or know people that do let them know that we are coming through town for one night only on this trip, but we plan on coming back soon. We are heading back to one of the best restaurants and bars on the Eastern Shore of Virginia, Kelly’s Gingernut Pub for a rockin’ Friday night. This town knows how to rock and never lets us down. It feels good to be heading back. We will close out the weekend in Hampton Virginia. Saturday night we are playing at the Taphouse. This is music lover’s venue. With the best beers on tap and great eats for all this is the perfect place to spend the night enjoying the music. On Sunday we will be just up the road at the Conch and Bucket for a daytime show so if you want to bring the family out this is guaranteed to be a great time.

Check out this new article by Bill DeYoung at the Connect Savannah.

Hot off the presses

THE TRAIN WRECKS

Saddle Up

“We get loud but we never get bored,” Jason Bible sings in “Tennessee Mare,” the opening track on the Train Wrecks’ just–released second album. That’s a pretty good summation of the entire Train Wrecks experience – raucous and perpetually in overdrive, Savannah’s premiere Americana band is never anything but exciting. The band’s live shows are loud, and by God, you won’t get close to bored.

Bible and his bandmates have been playing most of these songs in concert for a year or more, so anyone who’s caught a Train Wrecks show (and since they’re gigging all the time, it’s a distinct possibility) will recognize the galloping “Tennessee Mare,” the defiant Western stomps “Head For the Hills” and “Hang Me High,” the sweeping and pseudo–psychedelic “Southern Skies” and the elegiac “Not the End.” The band submits balls–out rock ‘n’ roll, and Western swing. There’s even a haunting, uptempo instrumental, “Song For Sally.”

The album has been produced with pointed accents on reverb and echo, with a cloud of poignant pedal steel guitar floating somewhere in the moody sky – giving everything a ghostly, urgent, desperate feel. And that’s perfect for these songs about recklessness, redemption and righteousness.

The Train Wrecks’ power source, of course, is the knuckle–tight rhythm section of drummer Marcus Kuhlmann and bassist Eric Dunn. And Stuart Harmening’s dobro, slide guitar and chicken–picking leads give the songs a muscular and cohesive flex.

But it’s singer/songwriter Bible that makes Saddle Up ride tall from start to finish. His gravelly Texas yowl and growl evoke a world–weary outlaw on the run, a cowboy questioning his place in the world, a young Southerner obsessed with whiskey, war and the unfettered joy of making music. “Cold, Cold Stone” is the album’s stunner – it’s both anthemic and chilling.

Recorded at Savannah’s Elevated Basement Studio, Saddle Up joins Eric Culberson’s In the Outside – also tracked in the Basement – as the cornerstones of an already great year for homegrown music. See thetrainwrecksband.com

Wow !!! We are excited and honored to announce that we have been chosen to open for B.B King at the Johnny Mercer Theater on September 29th.

“It has been estimated that blues great B.B.King has played more than 10,000 shows in a career spanning nearly 65 years. Whenever the King of the Blues has carried his venerable guitar Lucille onto any stage at anytime, the performance has become an unforgettable classic-and on occasion has been immortalized.

We have been adding some great new photos and videos to our site. We have a full live set of The Train Wrecks playing at Live Wire Music Hall !! This is a great chance to see us live if you have missed us on the road. Wow high energy, great tunes, and a great venue to showcase it all. Our thanks go out to Matt Muschamp for his still and video recordings of the event!!! Faster Pastor is a movie that The Train Wrecks performed the soundtrack for. This is one of the many great movie projects that we have worked on over the years. Get ready for our ringtone of our 41 second masterpiece, ‘Get it in Gear’, headed your way soon from the latest movie we just worked on ‘The Ransom of Red Feather’ . Check out the photo montage set to our song ‘She Was the One’ by Pink Squirrel from a show we played recently for Savannah’s own Paula Deen. We are so fortunate to work with such talented people. Look at our new photos from the fans and check out our new poster as well !

Our new shirts and stickers will be here before we know it so keep checkin’ back on the site to get yours first. We will be happy to mail them to you anywhere in the world. Thanks for all of your support !
Keep on Rockin’ in the Free World
